Fire Safety Remediation · Sheffield

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Fire-Safety Remediation Across Occupied Student Accommodation

Across several occupied student accommodation blocks in Sheffield, UKR Facades is delivering a £1.7m fire-safety remediation programme involving multiple elements of the external facade. Works commenced on site in April 2026 and are being delivered over a 30-week construction programme.

The scope includes replacement aluminium cladding, brickwork, soffits, oriel windows and fire barriers, alongside new insulation and cavity barriers. With students remaining in residence, the programme requires careful coordination around day-to-day occupation and particularly sensitive periods within the academic calendar.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Multi-System Facade Remediation

The works address a wide range of façade systems across the student accommodation blocks, including aluminium cladding, brickwork, soffits, oriel windows and fire barriers. Planning Works Around the Academic Calendar

Delivering remediation across several occupied student accommodation blocks requires the construction programme to account for both residents and the rhythms of the academic year. Particular consideration is being given to sensitive periods such as examinations and resident intake, when disruption needs to be carefully managed.

Programme and logistical planning therefore plays an important role in coordinating site activity across the development. By considering the timing of works alongside student occupation, UKR is able to plan delivery around key periods while working to minimise disruption to residents throughout the 30-week programme.
