PROJECT CASE STUDY

Centurion House

Fire Safety Remediation · Edgware

PROJECT OVERVIEW

High-Rise Facade Remediation in Edgware

Centurion House is a high-rise residential building in Edgware where UKR Facades completed a £2.5m fire-safety remediation project to improve the safety and compliance of the external wall system. The works focused on replacing the existing insulated render with a new non-combustible insulation and render system.

The 42-week construction programme reached completion in July 2024. Located on a busy high street, the project required the facade works to be carefully coordinated around significant pedestrian and vehicular activity, while cafes, shops and a gym at ground level remained fully open throughout delivery.

LIVE HIGH-STREET ENVIRONMENT

Delivering Remediation Above Active Businesses

Centurion House occupies a busy high-street location with significant pedestrian and vehicular traffic, while cafes, shops and a gym operate from commercial units at ground level. All remained fully open throughout the 42-week remediation programme, adding another layer of consideration to the management of works around the building.

Careful logistical planning was required for scaffolding, the positioning of the site compound and material deliveries to enable the facade works to progress safely and efficiently. Coordinating these activities around the active commercial units and surrounding high street formed a key part of the project’s successful delivery.
